The Mead Mishaps Series by Kimberly Lemming

Updated: Jun 23, 2022

These books by Kimberly Lemming are perfect for fans of spicy romance and fantasy stories!!! I love that the author includes the content warnings at the beginning of each book AND on her website.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon

(Mead Mishaps, Book 1)

Rating: 5 stars

Content Warnings: light BDSM, dub con, violence, mentions of sexual violence, sexually explicit content, enslavement.

Description: Cinnamon is just wants to live a simple life on her family’s spice farm without drama. Of course, all of the demons would escape from the frozen hellscape her country’s goddess bound them to.

After saving the dragon demon Fallon, she learns that the Goddess is actually just an evil witch enslaving his people. So she’s forced to help Fallon slay her for good and that would be way more annoying if the dragon man wasn’t so damn hot!

Review: I realllllly related with Cinnamon at the beginning of the book! Like, can I just have a good drink and meal and mind my own business? I love her and her family. Also, how did Lemming know I love a good batch of themed names? Cinnamon and her family grow and sell spices lol

Fallon had me clutching my fake pearls!!! Gotta love a mysterious and powerful dragon man.

Back to the storyline! This book has great pacing and kept me glued throughout. I wish there was an audiobook for it. I knew I had to read the rest of the books once I finished this one.

Mistlefoe

Rating: 4/4.5 stars

Content Warnings: light BDSM and sexually explicit content.

Description: Ruby is having the worst time working for her dad after he was cursed by a fox demon. Why? Because he stole from the demon’s den and now all of the weapons they forge shout obscenities at the customers! Ruby has a mind to rid them of this stupid curse but it turns out that Lucca the fox won't be swayed by an apology basket full of treats. “He does, however, need a fake mate for a week-long Winter Festival.”

Review: The spice pops off immediately!! I was *pleasantly* surprised by it. Ruby is cute and all but Lucca is the hottest. If it weren't for Alexis, Ruby's ridiculous talking sword, I feel like the plot would have just been okay. Alexis's comments really elevated the story. This is a short lil thing and so much fun!

That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf

(Mead Mishaps, Book 2)

Rating: 4.5 stars

Content Warnings: graphic violence, kidnapping, dub con (love potion), light BDSM, and sexually explicit content.

Description: Brie’s bestie came back home and brought a hoard of demons with her. Great! As she’s enjoying herself in the pub with Cin, a guy she hates from town tries to convince her to marry him. The sleaze-ball pushes a drink onto her but when she goes to throw it in his face, she accidentally hits someone else…

Now, Brie has to convince Felix the werewolf that she’s not his fated mate, he's just drugged. He’s already doing her chores so maybe she’s not that bothered.

Review: I was not ready for the spiciness of this book!!!! *fans self*

Brie, my cheese girl, is the lead in this book and I could not be happier! She's too funny and I'm happy we get to see Alexis the sword again because she's too much. Brie and Felix are adorable together and the chemistry is through the roof. I also love the adventure plot and shade thrown at MRA's. The plot dipped a bit about 1/3 of the way in and then picked up. I enjoyed every minute of it, though!
